Adams Manufacturing wins Employer of the Year award from Tri-County Workforce
The Tri-County Workforce Investment Board has named its Employer of the Year Awards in Butler, Armstrong and Indiana counties.
Adams Manufacturing, a manufacturer of residential and commercial resin furniture and accessories took home the award for Butler County. The business employs over 200 full- and part-time employees.
Founded in 1976, Adams Manufacturing got its start selling suction cups in hardware, craft, variety and office supply stores. Today, the Portersville-based business makes products such as foldable and stackable outdoor furniture, garden and holiday hardware products and Adirondack chairs.
The latest addition to its growing line includes furniture designed to accommodate individuals with larger proportions. The business continues to enhance its product lines with modern features like multi-purpose cups, and smartphone and accessory holders.
Adams Manufacturing was honored for its worker training programs to strengthen operational capability, consistency and employee engagement across its regional manufacturing sites.
In Armstrong County, Herkules USA received the award; while Valence Surface Technologies/H&W Global Industries won the honor in Indiana County.
Herkules USA is based in Ford City, employing about 125 workers for the production of Herkules grinding and turning machines at its 81,000-square-foot facility.
Herkules USA was honored for its commitment to workforce development through collaboration, worker training, employee recruitment and retainment, youth pipeline development, and apprenticeship opportunities.
Valence Surface Technologies/H&W Global Industries was founded in 2002 as H&W Global Industries.
Today the company operates out of a 55,000-square-foot facility in Blairsville, servicing clients in the aerospace, defense, automotive, marine, mining, nuclear and medical industries with military specification metal finishing, electroplating and industrial coating services.
