Slippery Rock Twp. board approves speed study, agreements with Dollar General

SLIPPERY ROCK TWP — Supervisors approved a speed study for Hines Road conducted by the township engineer at the regular meeting on Monday, Feb. 24.

The study determined an appropriate speed limit to be 25 mph for a portion the road, and 40 for the remainder. The portion to be posted at 25 mph is residential, while the rest is less populated.

The road is currently posted at 35 mph.

“With the study, if there’s any need to have the police monitor this, then there’s legal precedence,” Supervisor Paul Dickey said.

Dollar General update

The board also approved and signed two agreements with a developing Dollar General location along Centreville Pike.

The documents, a developer’s agreement and an operation and management agreement, are standard for any ongoing developments.

“This is just an agreement that they’ll abide by our rules,” Dickey said in regards to the developer’s agreement.

The next Slippery Rock Township supervisors meeting is scheduled for 8 p.m. March 10.
