Butler VA helping veterans switch to new sign-in process
Butler VA is starting an initiative every Tuesday in January to help veterans register with the VA’s new sign-in process for their online services.
“Tech Tuesdays” will be hosted at the Abie Abraham VA Health Care Center in Center Township between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Staff will be available to help veterans set up their new sign-in accounts through Login.gov or ID.me.
Veterans interested in the service must bring with them a device, such as a smartphone or laptop; two forms of government-issued photo ID; and two forms of alternate ID, such as a Social Security card or utility bill.
Veterans and other beneficiaries will need to create a Login.gov or ID.me account before previous sign-in methods are discontinued. Login options will no longer be available on My HealtheVet after Jan. 31 and DS logon after Sept. 30.
Those who cannot attend a “Tech Tuesday” are encouraged to follow a link on the VA website that will assist with creating a Login.gov or ID.me account.
