SV Academy of Choice hires assistant principal

Seneca Valley School District has hired Sarah Parish as assistant principal for its Academy of Choice.

She will start in her new role in January.

Parish is currently pursuing her doctorate in administration from Slippery Rock University. Her background also includes earning a K-12 master of science in art education from St. Joseph’s University and a principal certificate from Westminster College.

“This opportunity is particularly meaningful to me both professionally and personally, as the district holds a special place in my heart — my father worked here, and it’s a privilege to have the opportunity to contribute to a community that has always been a part of my family’s story,” Parish said in a news release. “Joining Seneca Valley represents not only the chance to be part of its rich traditions but also an opportunity to embrace its forward-thinking vision for education.”

Parish said the new role will align with her passion of fostering student success, and building collaborative relationships with staff, students and families.

“Ms. Parish brings a broad range of educational and leadership expertise to her role,” Tracy Vitale, Seneca Valley superintendent, said in the release. “She understands the importance of creating connections and building a learning environment, which aligns seamlessly with the SVAOC team.”

Seneca Valley Academy of Choice is a full-time cyber program for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
