Norman ‘Ron’ Mallonee

Norman Ronal “Ron” Mallonee, 83, of Saxonburg, passed away on Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born Feb. 20, 1941, in Brackenridge, he was the son of Ross Alan Mallonee and Mae Harris Mallonee.

Ron served in the U.S. Army from November 1963 to November 1965, where he served in the military police. He was president and CEO of Citizens Transport, retiring in 2004. He was co-founder of the H.L. Shearer Sporting and Literary Society.

He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Freeport, Armstrong Lodge 239 F&AM in Freeport, the Saxonburg Sportsmen’s Association, Saxonburg VFW Post 7376, Saxonburg American Legion Post 683, the National Rifle Association and a life member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association. He enjoyed golfing, trap shooting, hunting and spending time with his family. Ron will forever be remembered for his laugh, being a role model, his fortitude through hard times and his mottos, TTT (Think Things Through) and Stay Strong.

Surviving are his wife and true love of his life, Linda Cooper Mallonee, whom he married July 2, 2008; his son, Mark (Karen) Mallonee of Warner Robins, Ga.; two daughters, Susette Mallonee of Sarver and Michelle (Russ) Mallonee Long of Tarentum; two stepsons, Kyle Knapp of Saxonburg and Joshua (Julie) Knapp of Mars; four grandchildren, Jaclyn (Rich), Christian, Vikki and Ben; seven great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, LaMarr Mallonee and Gary Mallonee.

MALLONEE — Graveside services for Norman Ronal “Ron” Mallonee, who died Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery, Butler Street, Saxonburg, with Pastor Cherrie Andres officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the Keystone Paralyzed Veterans of America, 1113 Main St., Pittsburgh, PA 15215-2407.
