Susan Herman
Susan S. Herman, 99, of Butler, passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, in the comfort of her home.
She was born Oct. 22, 1924, in Butler, and was a daughter of the late John Sherba and Mary (Dunda) Sherba.
Susan graduated from Butler High School and was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, the Ladies Guild, had taught religious education and was on the repast committee, all at St. John’s. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Surviving are her children, Jeanne (James) Sheffer of Holley, N.Y., Frank Herman of Hamlin, N.Y., Gloria Hoffman of Butler and Joni (James) Horner of Butler; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Richard, Frank, Eric, Stephanie, Megan, Alyssa and Elizabeth; 19 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank “Pickle” Herman, whom she married June 8, 1946, and who passed away Sept. 16, 2009; a daughter-in-law, Marie Herman; four sisters; and two brothers.
HERMAN — Friends of Susan S. Herman, who died Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, will be received from 10:30 a.m. am until noon Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024 at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
Funeral services will follow at noon at the funeral home. The Rev. Radko Blichar, pastor, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
