Helen Arlene Farinelli, 86, of Butler, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024, while under the care of UPMC Passavant Hospital.

Born Dec. 1, 1937, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Arthur I. and Helen M. (Dambach) Stewart.

Helen was a member of the St. Faustina Parish, where she was also a former member of the Women’s Guild. She was part of the female auxiliary of the Loyal Order of Moose. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and canning. Above all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Helen leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Ruth Ann Baker of Evans City, Mary Lou Richards of Slippery Rock, Helen May Farinelli of Evans City, Phyllis (Dan) Gifford of New Sewickley Township and Marjory (James) Miller of Nebraska; her 10 grandchildren; her 14 great-grandchildren; her three stepgreat-grandchildren; her brothers, Tim Stewart of Portersville and Matt Stewart of New Kensington; and her sisters, Catherine Finley of Mercer and Harriett Kennedy of Florida.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Philip L. (Shook) Farinelli, who passed on March 2, 2015; her two brothers; her three sisters; and her two sons-in-law, Bob Baker and Thomas Richards.

FARINELLI — Family and friends of Helen Arlene Farinelli, who died Sunday, July 28, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Faustina Parish, St. Christopher at the Lake Church, 232 N. Franklin St., Prospect. Friends please meet at the church.

Helen will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Burial Estates.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen’s honor to St. Faustina Parish, 342 Normal Ave., Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
