Varrasso

On Friday, July 26, 2024, Roberta “Cis” (Murphy) Varrasso, of Butler, joined her beloved husband, Sam, in our Heavenly Father's care.

Roberta was born on June 4, 1937, to John and Cecilia Murphy in Tamaqua, Pa. She attended Saint Paul’s School in Butler, and graduated from Butler High School in 1955. Roberta worked for Dr. Lawrence May in Butler in the mid-1950s to early 1960s. She was a member of All Saints Parish., St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

On Oct. 21, 1961, Cis married Salvatore “Sam” Varrasso at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. They were inseparable from that day forward until Sam's death on Aug. 4, 2014. Cis and Sam provided a loving and happy home for their five daughters and later their nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Cis's greatest joy came from watching her immediate and extended family grow. She was an avid baker and enjoyed baking for family and friends. She always made sure there was a Sunday family dinner to bring everyone together.
