Helene Johnston
Helene Guier Vogel Johnston, 89, of Valencia, born on Nov. 19, 1934, went to be with our Lord on Monday, July 15, 2024. Her first husband, William Vogel, passed away prior to her marriage to Dennis Johnston.
Her husband, Dennis, is the father of Kenneth (Michelle) Johnston, Kevin (Sherry) Johnston, Kathleen Polkow and Kelly Foster; grandfather of 12; and great-grandfather of nine.
Helene was the mother of Billy (Joyce) Vogel, Janet (Rich Renwick) Goucher and Susanne (Dan Cook) Vogel; grandmother of Angelia (Pete) Parise, Amy (Chris) Anderson, Amanda (Justin Moffet), Billiejo (Adam Tuzikow), Kathy (John) Michael, Kim Goucher and Kenny Goucher; and great-grandmother of 14.
As your devoted husband, I couldn't have asked for a better life than the life God gave me with you, my dear Helene. We were perfect for each other in every way. I never laughed so much, felt so good, or enjoyed life better than I did with you during our years together. Regardless of our health situations, traveling so much to experience God's wonders, nothing could have been better for me then you in my life. God blessed me beyond anything, by giving me the time he did with you.
Although you may be gone physically, you will be with me in spirit for the rest of my days. Where can I go in our home that you would not be with me? As I sit down for a meal, you will be sitting next to me. As I work in the yard you will walk with me. As I sleep at night, you will hold my hand and I will be able to feel you; you will never leave my heart.
Most of all, I will smile often, thinking of the good times we shared. Whether we were admiring the beauty of flowers, a sunset or one of the three moons you noticed that one morning, I will remember the good times we had. That was what we had together: good times. Not only were we good together, but most of all, good for each other regardless of the situation. So few can say they had enjoyed that kind of love with their loved one.
My love for you was stronger than I was capable of showing, or expressing at times. I only tried to extend my feelings as often as possible with the little things more than something grandiose. Flowers or a card at a time you didn't expect them, a touching of your arm at dinner, or just a simple I love you as we would pass each other in our home. That meant so much to me and I know how much it meant to you.
I love you my dearest beloved and ask God for help at my time of need. I shall pray the Rosary, asking our Blessed Mother for her help, and remembering you will be with me at all times. — Your devoted husband.
