Johnston shines in harness racing
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Filthy McNasty, owned and driven by Shawn Johnston of Evans City, won for the third time in her last five starts during harness racing action Wednesday at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

Chatty Vanessa, a 3-year-old filly trained by Johnston, won her first race in six tries. Slippery Rock resident Brady Brown drove Lasix, a 3-year-old filly, to victory.
SRU football No. 10 in preseason rankings
SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock University football team is ranked 10th in the preseason Division II national poll, published by Lindy’s Sports College Football Preview magazine.
SRU has been ranked in the Lindy’s Sports preseason poll every year since 2019.
Rock tight end Kam Kruzelyak and cornerback Josh Stokes were named Preseason All-America and running back Idris Lawrence was named Newcomer of the Year. Lawrence erushed for 3,042 yards and 23 touchdowns in 30 career games at Notre Dame (Ohio) College.
