Monteleone

Dominick “Peppy” Monteleone, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 20, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with heart disease.

He was born in Butler on Feb. 16, 1940, to the late Dominic and Antoinette (Zaccari) Monteleone.

Peppy was a 1959 graduate of Butler High School where he was a stellar football and basketball player. He retired from Armco after 40 years. Peppy enjoyed playing golf, tennis and watching sports, especially his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and most of all watching his grandchildren excel in sports. He was a member of American Legion 778 and the Italian Society of Butler.

Peppy leaves behind his loving wife of 32 years, Paula (Jones) Monteleone. He was the father of Lisa (Rich) Kotch, Leslie Monteleone, Kendra (Damon) Graham, Erin (Scott) Browne and Steve Monteleone; brother of Art (Peggy) Monteleone and Joe (Josephine) Monteleone; grandfather of Tyler, Tanner, Marriah, Trevor, Emma, Brookelle, Logan, Vanessa, Chloe and Maddox; great-grandfather of Liam, David and Layah; and had numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jim (Rena) Monteleone.

MONTELEONE — Family and friends of Dominick “Peppy” Monteleone, who died Monday, May 20, 2024, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
