Church sale to help Holy Land Christians
St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora will sell carvings made from olive tree wood more than 200 years old to assist Christians in the Holy Land.
Suhair Musleh, of Holy Land Gifts, will sell the carvings from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 24, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, in the church basement at 105 Kohler Ave., Lyndora.
All items are hand-carved by 100 families who live in Bethlehem.
Because of the ongoing war, the families in the Holy Land who own gift shops have no source of income. The sale will assist those families.
