SRU student joins council of trustees
Charli Severo, a Slippery Rock University junior studying political science and philosophy, has been selected as a member of the council of trustees.
Severo fills the seat designated for a full-time SRU undergraduate student. She retains the same voting privileges as other trustees.
Severo was selected based on a campus-wide application and interview. Her appointment was approved by the state’s board of governors at its April 11 meeting, after which she was officially sworn in at an SRU ceremony.
Severo is president of the SRU Law Society and the Debate Society. She also served as a peer leader for SRU’s FYRST Seminar, designed to help high school students transition into college. After graduating, Severo plans to attend law school.
Severo replaces Cierra Mitchell, who served as a trustee for one year before graduating this month.
