Richard Rhodes

Richard Bevier Rhodes, 79, of Butler, passed away Monday, May 13, 2024, at Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

He was born on July 6, 1944, in Madison Township, Clarion County, the son of Cecil Ray and Agnes Beatrice (Weaver) Rhodes.

Richard lived in Rimersburg for most of his life until moving to Butler. He graduated from Union Joint High School in 1962 and honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Richard most recently worked as a laborer for IDL in Butler for over seven years, before retiring in 2012. He was a member of Rimersburg First United Methodist Church, and in his free time he enjoyed completing word puzzles, woodworking and finishing puzzles.

He will be deeply missed by his brother, Paul Rhodes, of NuMine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Tina Christine (Reed) Rhodes, who died in 2005; brothers, Gary, Ronald, the Rev. Clayton and James; and a sister, Betty L. Hockenberry.

RHODES — Family and friends of Richard Bevier Rhodes, who died Monday, May 13, 2024, will be received from 1 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday, at BAUER-HILLIS FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 758 Main St., Rimersburg, with Clayton's nephew, Clint Rhodes, officiating.

Military honors will be presented by American Legion Post 454 and VFW Post 7132.

Burial will be in Rimersburg Cemetery, Rimersburg.
