Downing medalist in BC3 golf win

Butler graduate Xander Downing earned medalist honors with a 79 as the Butler County Community College golf team defeated CCAC, 346-379, Friday at Lake Arthur.

Knoch graduate Cory Voltz had an 81 for the Pioneers while Seneca Valley graduate Devin Latsko carded a 91, Knoch graduate Connor Squartino a 95.

BC3 competes in the Region XX Championship on Monday and Tuesday at The Links at Spring Church.

Johnston wins pair in harness racing

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Evans City resident Shawn Johnston drove Wholelotatrot to victory in a $7,500 Conditioned Trot during harness racing action Saturday at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

Johnston also teamed with his brother, trainer Aaron Johnston of Wampum, to win with Cameheretoforget in a $9,000 Conditioned Trot.
