Doris McCafferty Miller, 80, of Butler, passed away in the comfort of her home on Saturday, May 11, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Born March 7, 1944, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Herman J. McCafferty and the late Mary E. (Slater) McCafferty.

Doris was a graduate of Butler High School and a lifelong member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. She was a selfless woman with a sweet soul and a great sense of humor. Doris cherished her time with her card club girls, enjoyed going to the casino and loved traveling to the beach. Above all else, she adored her family and was an extremely devoted wife, loving mother and the most caring grandmother.

Doris is survived by her husband of 59 years, Gary H. Miller, whom she married on April 3, 1965; her son, Mike (Gina) Miller of Butler; her daughter, Jennifer (Ron) Anthony of Butler; her two granddaughters, Megan and Maggie Anthony; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Adams.

MILLER — Family and friends of Doris McCafferty Miller, who died Saturday, May 11, 2024, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler.

She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Butler.

In lieu of flowers, kindly consider memorial donations in Doris’ honor to Butler Co. Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
