Haine Middle School students build hydrogen-powered cars

Students built and raced their own miniature hydrogen-powered cars at Haine Middle School on Tuesday, May 7.

The Horizon Hydrogen Grand Prix XPR race followed a visit from Mike Ducker, president and CEO of MHI Hydrogen Infrastructure, who spoke to the students about hydrogen and hydrogen ecosystems/infrastructure.

Additionally, Nicola Weiss, H2GP Foundation president, told the students about solar, wind, why hydrogen is important and what happens in the reversible fuel cell they will be using.

The race featured hand-built fuel cell-powered vehicles made using recycled materials.
