Tuesday’s Backyard Gardening workshop at the South Butler Community Library will see a Penn State Master Gardener demonstrating how to identify the common trees of Western Pennsylvania.

The tree identification workshop will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, and will include a walk around the library property with Kathy Allen, a master gardener, who will identify 15 different species of trees.

Those in attendance also will learn about the native and nonnative tree species in the local area.

Allen also will share information about the three gardens blooming on the library property.
