Tillie Broad, 90, of Butler, formerly of Slippery Rock, passed away the morning of Monday, April 22, 2024, while residing at Concordia at the Orchard, surrounded by her family.

Born on Sept. 29, 1933, in Poland, Tillie was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Holta) Maskal.

Tillie attended St. John’s Methodist Church. She enjoyed tending to her flower beds and spending time baking, cooking and canning. She liked playing bingo and doing word finds. She was a wonderful and caring mother and grandma and was dearly loved. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and they shared many special moments together.

Tillie is survived by her twin daughters, Barbara (Stephen) Tenney and Brenda Huber; three sons, Joseph Broad, Kirby (Edna) Broad and Barton (Bonnie) Broad; and 10 grandchildren, Kayla and Karla Broad, Lauren and Ryan Broad, Ross, Brigitte, Brooke and Addison Tenney, and Emily and Evan Huber.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Broad, whom she married June 11, 1957.

BROAD — Family and friends of Tillie Broad, who died Monday April 22, 2024, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Earl Dykes officiating.

Private burial will be at West Sunbury Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Tillie’s family requests donations be made to St. John’s Methodist Church, 244 Hallston Road, Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
