James Parker

James Wick Parker, 80, of Delmont, formerly of Jeannette, died Monday, April 22, 2024, at home.

He was born Sept. 24, 1943, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late James Kenneth Parker and Mattie Elizabeth (Wick) Parker.

Prior to retirement, he was employed by Frick Hospital in Mount Pleasant, and he was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the U.S. Navy. Jim was a member of Chicora Lutheran Church and was a former call firefighter and fire prevention officer for the City of Jeannette Fire Department and was a former member of the Chicora Volunteer Fire Department. He was a 1962 graduate of the Milton Hershey School.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Sophia Beighley; a sister, Gertrude Jane Konrad; and his dog, Fred.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine (Wilson) Parker; his daughters, Jacqueline Morgan (Mark), Toni Lynn Beattie (Phil), Stephanie Parker and Jamie Parker; seven grandchildren, Jessica Beighley (Andrew), Emily Meader (Jason), Matthew Burczyk (Michael), Nicholas Burczyk (Brianne), Mattie Waltz (Ian), Richard James Mehrenberg and Mathilda Mehrenberg; 10 great-grandchildren, Bentley, Katie, Henry, Hannah, Elliana, Anniston, Maverick, Christian, Gracie and Baylee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

PARKER — Friends of James Wick Parker, who died Monday, April 22, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME, 201 N. First St., Jeannette.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment with military rites will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.

Jim's wishes were no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Westmoreland County Humane Society.
