Gale Virgil Dobson, 98, of Boyers, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024.

Gale was born April 9, 1926, at home in Boyers. He was the son of the late Calvin W. Dobson and Sadie I. McGill.

Gale married the late Veronica M. Ferrere on May 17, 1947, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Murrinsville, Pa. He was a lifelong member of the Boyers United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school to various age groups for many years. He was a longtime driver for the Boyers Meals on Wheels. Gale was a member of Grove City No. 603 Masonic Lodge.

Gale was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served during World War II. He retired from U.S. Steel and the former National Underground Storage facility, where he worked as a security guard.

Gale is survived by his daughters, Cequenda Bruggeman of Butler, Roxanne Dobson of Boyers and Vanessa Barnett (Richard Grabowski) of Butler; his grandsons, Barret Evans, Christian Bruggeman (Colleen Casey) of San Francisco, Zane Barnett of Butler and Seth Barnett (Kelli Bampton) of Pittsburgh; and a great-grandson.

Gale was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; three sisters; and a daughter, Jocelyn Dobson.

DOBSON — Family of Gale Virgil Dobson, who died Thursday, April 18, 2024, will receive friends from 10 a.m. until noon Tuesday at JAMISON-MCKINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 117 North Main St., Harrisville.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Boyers at the Boyers United Methodist Church, 935 Cemetery Road, Boyers, Pa.

Memorial donations may be made to the Boyers Meals on Wheels c/o Jan Douglass, PO Box 125, Eau Claire, PA 16030, or the Butler County Humane Society.
