SRU to revise its community engagement groups

Slippery Rock University announced it will be restructuring and unifying its community engagement efforts through a revisioning process of three groups — the Office for Community-Engaged Learning, Butler SUCCEED and the Institute for Nonprofit Leadership.

The existing leaders of these groups, with the provost's office, are to engage in a collaborative process to identify ways to coordinate and enhance the university's community engagement initiatives, according to a Thursday, April 18, news release.

This will not involve staff reductions and each group will continue its work during the restructuring process, but their current names and office location will be discontinued in the coming months.

“More details about the restructuring will emerge in the coming months,” SRU Provost Michael Zieg said. “We are excited to take this opportunity to work even closer and more effectively with our community partners.”
