Richard Sickle

Sickle

Richard Steiner Sickle, 71, of Portersville, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024, surrounded by family at Butler Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness.

An extremely artistically talented man, he was also a great cook and wonderful with beautiful plants and flowers. He enjoyed rides with his dog, family gatherings and dinners, time with his friends, playing cards and sharing a great story. He loved his co-workers at Fairground Market, and had lasting friendships from his other jobs over the years. Each one provided many treasured memories.

Rick was a 1970 graduate of Slippery Rock Area High School and graduated from Edinboro University in 1974, where he studied art. He formed lifetime friendships with many classmates and always enjoyed those reunions with friends. He was a very kindhearted and fun-loving man who filled the room with laughter, always joking and enjoying life to the fullest.

Rick was born on Oct. 1, 1952, in Ellwood City. He was a wonderful son of Richard Eugene and Gladys Marie (Bauder) Sickle. He was brother to Dan (Patti Mohan) Sickle and Stacy (Travis) Croll. He loved his nieces and nephew and was a fantastic uncle to Trisha Sickle, Danielle (Grant) Gabal, Jeff (Haley Urben) Croll and Steph Croll. He also had the joy of being great-uncle to Noah, Josephine and Trent.

His family and many great friends were the treasures of his life, and Rick was an unforgettable blessing to everyone he encountered.
