Skibinski 4-event winner for Union/ACV

Union/A-C Valley’s Logan Skibinski was a four-event winner on Tuesday as the Falcon Knights’ boys track and field team defeated Keystone, 85-65.

Skibinski won the 100 and 200 meters and ran legs of the winning 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams. Hayden Smith won the high jump and long jump and ran a leg of the 4x100 relay. Aidan Fox won the triple jump, ran a leg of the 4x100 and 4x400, and took second in the long jump with a District 9 qualifying distance of 19 feet, 9.5 inches.

Jorges Reges won the 800 meters and javelin for Union/ACV.

The Falcon Knight girls dropped an 83-62 decision to Keystone. Hannah Ithen won the triple jump and long jump.

Butler’s girls swept a triangular, defeating Pine-Richland, 91-59, and Shaler, 113-37. Lauren Bowden won the 300-meter hurdles and ran a leg of the winning 4x100 and 4x400 relays.

Grace Nichols led a sweep of the high jump for the Golden Tornado while Audrey Lehman won the 400 and ran a leg of the 4x400. Adraya Baxter won the 100 hurdles.

Butler’s boys defeated Pine-Richland, 104-46, and Shaler, 132-18. David Graef won the 100 and 200 meters for the Golden Tornado while Orein McBride-Cager won the high jump and long jump.

Slippery Rock’s boys defeated Hickory, 102-48. Tyler Arblaster won the 200 and 400 meters, Viktor Zahn the 800 and 3,200. Levi Prementine claimed the 300 hurdles and long jump.

The Rocket girls dropped a 79-71 decision. Aiva Reich won both hurdle events.

Baseball

Charlie Bickel produced four singles, three RBI and a run scored on Tuesday as Mars defeated New Castle, 15-2. The Planets banged out 13 hits in the contest.

Finn Seideneck had a double, two singles, three RBI and two runs scored while Shane Kleinfelter doubled and scored three runs. Jake Johnson had a single and scored three runs as well. Winning pitcher Roman Brunsell struck out six and allowed four hits.

Slippery Rock 10, Titusville 2 — Ryan Double pitched six innings and struck out 10 for the Rockets. Slippery Rock (5-2) collected 12 hits in the game and will host Conneaut at Critchfield Park on Wednesday.

Softball

Kaila Purcell struck out eight as Knoch shut out Woodland Hills, 15-0, in a section game. Lizzie Danik ha vour RBI to lead the Knights at the plate.

Freeport 17, Valley 0 — Sydney Selker and Ali Smith combined on a four-inning no-hitter with 10 strikeouts. Abby DeJidas homered, had two doubles and four RBI for the Yellowjackets. Lauren Clark added two doubles and two RBI.

Boys Tennis

Knoch was swept by Burrell in a 5-0 defeat on Monday.

Boys Volleyball

Mars scored a 3-0 victory over Gateway. Match scores were 25-20, 25-17, 25-19. No other details were provided.
