Independence Health System announced on Monday, April 15 that Lela Dougherty will join the Butler Family Medicine team at its 116 Woody Drive location in Butler.

Dougherty is board certified in family and lifestyle medicine, with more than a decade of experience in providing primary health care services to patients of all ages.

She has a particular interest in lifestyle medicine, which is an evidence-based approach shown to prevent and treat chronic conditions.

Dougherty received her medical degree from the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University and completed a family medicine residency at UPMC St. Margaret in Pittsburgh.
