Naomi Emmons

Emmons

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Naomi Hogg Emmons, a beloved resident of Southbury, Conn. Naomi peacefully departed from this world on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at her home at The Watermark in Southbury, at the age of 90.

She was born on Nov. 17, 1933, in Slippery Rock, and was the daughter to the late Calvin and Dorothy Hogg.

Naomi was born and raised in Slippery Rock, and she attended Westminster College in New Wilmington, where she studied business.

Naomi was a longtime member of the Ridgebury Congregational Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She pursued her hobbies of playing the piano and violin, engaging in trivia, putting on the green, reading, gardening and, most importantly, spending quality time with her family, who lovingly called her Nomie.

Naomi was the cherished wife of the late Richard “Dick” Emmons, whom she married in 1959. They met on a blind date in Binghamton, N.Y., where they soon began their family. They were married for 38 years until Dick passed in 1997.

She is survived by her loving children, Judy Gill and husband, Tim, of Easton, Pa., Jeff Emmons of Evergreen, Colo., Jane MacLaren and husband, Gil, of Lakeville, Conn., and Jill DeLouis and husband, Peter, of Torrington, Conn.
