On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, James Clair Means passed away at the age of 72, in Arlington, Texas.

Born on Nov. 23, 1951, in Grove City, James was a retired firefighter who dedicated his life to serving the City of Midland Fire Department. He served his country in the Air Force, reaching the rank of sergeant before being honorably discharged on May 15, 1974.

James, a nature lover at heart, found joy in watching various animals and feeding squirrels and cardinals. His interests in fishing, hunting and cheering for the Pittsburgh Penguins were well-known among his loved ones. He had a passion for classic Westerns, John Wayne movies and the music of the Moody Blues.

He adored spending time with his family and enjoyed many memorable moments with his daughters, Lisa Brown, Sarah Gunn and Laura Little.

He is survived by his mother, Delores Patten; brother, Paul Means; sister, Dianne Fraley; and sister-in-law, Carol Means. James will be dearly missed by his grandkids, Chancellor Little, Gage Phillips, Austin Korell, Keegan Korell, Kaden Korell, Jordan Kirk, Braylon Kirk, Taylor Kirk, Ryan Brown, Clover Brown, Mae Brown and Judah Brown; as well as his sons-in-law, Jacob Brown, Kevin Korell and Derek Gunn.

James Clair Means was interred at Cedar Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Arlington, Texas, and his cherished memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were touched by his kindness and selflessness. May he rest in peace.
