Butler girls 2nd at TSTCA track meet

Butler’s girls track and field team placed second out of 50 schools at the TSTCA Outdoor Championships on Saturday at West Mifflin High School.

The Golden Tornado girls swept the top three places in the high jump with Jocie Slesinski, Grace Nichols and Gracyn Vardy. Aubrey Rock tooksecond in the long jump, Lauren Bowden second in the 300-meter hurdles.

Butler’s place-winners follow:

High jump: 1-Jocie Slesinski 5-1, 2-Grace Nichols 4-11, 3-Gracyn Vardy 4-11

Long jump: 2-Aubrey Rock 18-0.25

300 hurdles: 2-Lauren Bowden 47.08, 9-Andraya Baxter 48.70

Pole vault: 30-Aubrey Rock 11-1, 5-Evelyn Paserba 10-7

800: 3-Madison McGarrah 2:23.07

400: 6-Audrey Lehman 1:01.25

Discus: 6-Julianna Lockwood 100-4

100 hurdles: 7-Lauren Bowden 17.37

Javelin: 7-Evelyn Paserba 105-11

3,200: 7-Ava Brewster 11:41.84

Slippery Rock’s girls placed second as a team with 68 points at the West Middlesex Invitational. Avia Reich won the 100-meter hurdles and the 4x800 relay won for the Rockets.

SR’s boys placed fifth with 50 points. Eli Anderson won both hurdle events and Tyler Arblaster won the 400 meters.
