The Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber of Commerce announced Jim Boltz, who has served as its president since 2014, will retire this summer.

Boltz has helped the chamber average about 140 new members each year, through efforts and events such as the Helping Young People Excel committee, the Women’s Leadership Roundtable group and the availability of student memberships for local colleges.

I have truly enjoyed working for the Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber, and I sincerely appreciate the support provided to me during my 10 years as part of the organization,” Boltz said. “The stimulation of a forward-thinking board, passionate and hardworking staff and leadership reputation of the chamber made waking up and coming to work each day truly fulfilling. I will look back with pride over our accomplishments.

“While I look forward to enjoying my retirement, I will miss being part of our team and the organization. I trust that the friendships I have developed there will last well into the future.”

According to Kelvin Mack, director of marketing and membership, the chamber’s board of directors will soon begin a “nationwide candidate search.”

Mack said Boltz also will help the chamber transition to a new leader by working through the end of June.

Boltz and his team has spearhead the Cranberry Township Farmer’s Market and Holiday Village events, which the chamber began to manage in 2020 in cooperation with Cranberry Township.

“Jim's tenure as the president of the PNRC has been transformative for our community, particularly in forging a robust partnership with Cranberry Township,” Cranberry Township manager Dan Santoro said. “Under his stewardship, the PNRC has evolved beyond a mere chamber advocating for business interests; it has woven itself deeply into the fabric of our community.”

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Boltz and the chamber organized and led the Tri-County Collaborative to connect regional businesses to resources, information and support.

Before his time at the chamber, Boltz owned Minuteman Press of Cranberry Township and served on the chamber’s board of directors, holding the positions of treasurer and board chair. His earlier career experience includes roles as a buyer and store manager for the former Kaufmann’s Department Store.

Boltz has lived in Western Pennsylvania most of his life, graduating from East Brady High School and attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.

He an his wife, Laura, have lived in Cranberry Township for 27 years, where they raised their three daughters.

In his retirement, Boltz said he plans to enjoy more golf, while taking on home improvement projects and spending time outdoors.
