Butler softball falls to Canon-Mac

Lily Vicari homered, singled and drove in three runs on Monday, but the production was not enough to prevent a 4-3 Butler softball loss to Canon-McMillan on the Golden Tornado’s field.

Gracie Negley and Alley Bartley added singles for the Golden Tornado (2-2, 1-2), who were limited to four hits. Kelsey Ogin was a hard-luck losing pitcher, allowing only one earned run while striking out eight in seven innings.

Canon-McMillan improved to 2-1, 2-1.

Butler plays at Mt. Lebanon on Tuesday.

Mars 7, South Fayette 2 — The Planets (2-6, 1-1) won their first section game of the season and ended host South Fayette’s (3-1, 1-1) three-game winning streak.

Mars hosts New Castle on Wednesday afternoon.

Boys Lacrosse

Mars remained undefeated with a 25-6 win over Freeport. No details were provided.

Boys Tennis

Mars won both doubles events to secure a 3-2 victory over Butler. Ethan Palmer won t No. 3 singles dfor the Planets.

Andrew Bocci and Ben Busler won at No.’s 1 and 2 singles for the Golden Tornado.
