Isaac McCandless had three of Slippery Rock’s 12 hits in a 12-4 baseball victory over Oil City on Thursday. Four other Slippery Rock players had multi-hit games.

McCandless and Cade Bable combined to strike out 10 in seven innings as the Rockets improved to 3-1 on the year.

Softball

Freeport’s Abby DeJidas had three hits, including a double and home run, and Sydney Selker struck out 13 batters, but the Yellowjackets dropped a 3-1 decision to Deer Lakes.

Selker allowed just one hit, but walked six in the loss.

For the Lancers, M.Keep struck out 15 and walked six while T.Germanich hit a home run.

Girls Lacrosse

Mars improved to 5-0 on the season with a 20-0 defeat of Knoch. No other details were provided.
