Birckbichler

Karl “Sam” Birckbichler, 76, of Butler, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

He was born in Butler on Feb. 20, 1948, to the late Theodore and Viola (Grey) Birckbichler.

Sam honorably served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War, and later worked at Tesone Transport until he retired. Sam enjoyed bowling and horseshoes and was described as a genuinely great man to all, and his family was his entire world.

He was the beloved husband of the late Connie Birckbichler, whom he married on Jan. 16, 1970, and who passed away in 2019; father of Brian (Brandie) Birckbichler and Melissa (David) Cunningham; brother of Barbara Cook, Lillian Keefer, Alonzo “Bud” Birckbichler and Bruce Birckbichler; and grandfather of Matthew Cunningham, Breanna Birckbichler and Luke Cunningham.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence and Charles Birckbichler.

BIRCKBICHLER — Burial for Karl “Sam” Birckbichler, who died Thursday, April 4, 2024, will be held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
