Sports Roundup: KC track sweeps Keystone and more

Zach Kelly won the 100 and 200 meters and Karns City swept the relay events on Wednesday in rolling to a 104-46 boys track and field win over Keystone.

Kelly also ran a leg on two of the winning relays.

Karns City’s girls scored a 110-40 win as Ava Kamenski won both hurdle events, Leah Wilson the long jump and pole vault.

Baseball

Jake Johnson delivered a two-out, two-run double in the bottom of the sixth to give Mars a 4-3 section baseball win over West Allegheny.

The Planets (4-1, 1-0) had seven hits in the game.

North Catholic 5, Hampton 0 — Senior hurler Tommy Schafale threw a complete-game one-hitter, fanning 10 and tossing 82 pitches for the Trojans (1-1, 1-0). Blake Primrose had a homer and a double in the win over the WPIAL Section 4-4A foe Talbots.

Boys Volleyball

Mars posted a 3-0 victory over Pine-Richand in a section match. Scores were 25-13, 25-19, 25-14.
