Route 66 closed after slide

Part of Route 66 between Vandergrift and Leechburg in Armstrong County was closed Wednesday, April 3, due to a landslide, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Route 66 between the intersection of Jefferson Street and First Street/Lincoln Street in Parks Township is currently closed with no estimated time to reopen. To detour, motorists should use Route 56 and the Route 56 Bypass (South Leechburg Hill).

Another stretch of Route 66 in Clarion County was closed for several hours Wednesday, but reopened in the afternoon. The road was closed between the intersection of Route 861 in New Bethlehem and Olean Trail in Limestone Township, Clarion County, after a slide early Wednesday morning.
