Brenda McCartney

McCartney

Brenda (Slagle) McCartney, 58, of Bruin, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at her parent’s home in Butler. Brenda was tough as nails but sweet as candy. She is finally resting after a frustrating two-year battle with cancer.

She loved her family, nature, crafting and crocheting. Years ago, she was an active Girl Scout leader with her daughter in Troop 462. From spending so many years working in automotive parts and repair, she really knew a lot about vehicles. She was the manager of her own repair shop in Slippery Rock. She was born in Grove City, Pa., on Jan. 3, 1966.

She is survived by her daughter, Lierynne McCartney; her parents, Dean and Peg Slagle; brothers, Gary (Marie) Slagle, Bill Slagle and Schon (Amy) Slagle; her grandchildren, Lily, Jaxon, Ravyn and Zane; her nephews, Jacob (Kayla), Gabriel (Kaitlyn), Will, and her, niece, Ashli (Chandler); aunt, Dori (John), aunt, Linda, and uncle Bill; and a great number of cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vi and Bill Slagle and Albert and Betty Youkers; along with some uncles and an aunt.

MCCARTNEY — According to her wishes, all services for Brenda (Slagle) McCartney, who died Saturday, March 30, 2024, were held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
