PHOTOS: Egg hunts across Butler County get kids in the spirit of Easter

A lot of eggstrordinary organizations throughout the county ensure kids are eggcited for springtime’s premiere holiday by planning Easter egg hunts.

Normally, basket-wielding youngsters are separated into age groups and set loose on a field covered in colorful plastic eggs, which they scoop up as the adults cheer them on and encourage them to grab as many as possible.

Some egg hunts fill the eggs with candies while others stuff certificates for larger prizes into a few eggs in addition to coins or sweets. Bicycles or gift certificates to a local activities venue are often the grand prizes in one or two eggs in each category.

Although he is very busy, the Easter Bunny usually makes an appearance at Easter egg hunt events to pose for pictures with young fans.
