A Butler woman was charged by city police after a 13-month-old child in her care was found to have cocaine in their system, documents showed.
Jasmine M. Hans, 22, was charged March 15 with misdemeanor child endangerment after the child was taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Police said a report was filed Jan. 31 stating the child was brought to the hospital by a babysitter. The babysitter had concerns about the child’s safety and identified Hans as the primary caregiver.
According to court documents, a cocaine metabolite was found in the child’s system following a test.
Hans’ preliminary hearing is scheduled April 22.
