Wagner, Vittone shine in defeat

CLEVELAND — Mars graduate Trey Wagner and Seven Fields resident Luke Vittone produced offensively, but Grove City College’s baseball team dropped a 10-6 decision to Case Western Reserve on Tuesday.

Wagner, a sophomore DH, had two hits. Vittone, a junior shortstop, hit a two-run triple.

Grove City hosts Westminster at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Ogoreuc gets win in NRA Championship

GROVE CITY — Jack Ogoreuc, son of former Slippery Rock University swim coach Bob Ogoreuc, won the NRA Open 4 Position Sectional Championship over the weekend.

He shot a 797-58 out of 800 to win the individual match and a perfect 400 for his portion of the team match to help earn a team championship.
