Woman charged with burglary of Center Township home

A Butler woman was charged with breaking into a Center Township home and stealing a phone earlier this month, according to charges filed by state police.

Gloria J. Mastrocesare, 72, was charged with felony burglary, misdemeanors theft and trespassing and summary harassment after police were notified of a break-in March 1 on Mahood Road.

Documents show the homeowner said Mastrocesare arrived at the residence around 10 a.m. after previously being told not to return. Mastrocesare then pushed on the door and entered the residence when the homeowner opened it slightly, according to police.

Police said the homeowner disclosed Mastrocesare demanded money and then took an iPhone 14 from the residence before leaving.

Mastrocesare’s preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
