Cruz homers twice in Pirates victory

CLEARWATER, Fla. — Oneil Cruz continued his torrid spring for the Pirates on Monday, collecting three hits — including two homers — and six RBI in an 11-2 Grapefruit League win over the Phillies.

Cruz has seven home runs this spring, tied with Baltimore’s Kyle Stowers for the most in Major League Baseball. Rowdy Tellez homered for Pittsburgh on Monday as well.

Martin Perez has allowed two unearned runs in nine innings over his last two starts. The Pirates (11-13-1) return to action at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday against the Yankees in Tampa.
