Police reports

The following items have been collected from various police departments and district courts:

Butler City

Feb. 26 — James C. Shearer III, 31, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment. Police said he struck someone with a bat.

Feb. 25 — Danielle N. Sarver, 32, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanors use and possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing. Police said she was found at a residence where she was asked not to return and was in possession of a capped syringe.

Butler Twp

Feb. 26 — Abbi R. Cochran, 33, of Hilliards, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor use and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said she was found with suspected crack cocaine.

Feb. 26 — Robert E. Babcock, 74, of Butler, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor DUI after police stopped him Jan. 8 on New Castle Road. Police said he showed signs of impairment, and a later blood test showed his blood alcohol content at 0.245%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

Cranberry Twp

March 12 — Gregori M. White, 62, of Detroit, Mich., was charged with misdemeanors theft and possession of a criminal instrument. Police said he left Best Buy with $793 in cash after a false return.

Feb. 26 — Ahman Andrews, 22, of Pittsburgh, was charged with felony strangulation, misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment. Police said he placed his hands around someone’s neck and punched them.

Feb. 23 — Niyah L. Thomas, 22, of Walled Lake, Mich., was charged with two counts of misdemeanor theft. Police said she left Dick’s Sporting Goods with $934 worth of merchandise without paying for it.

Feb. 22 — Austin A. Gaetano, 18, of Glenshaw, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor use and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said he was found with THC vape pens and cartridges, a glass smoking pipes, a metal grinder, rolling papers, pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes, a digital scale, and suspected marijuana.

State police, Butler

Feb. 24 — Mark Jasmine, 74, of Sarver, was charged with felony possession of a prohibited firearm. Police said they discovered no record of sale on a particular firearm in his possession.
