State police investigate guns stolen from Eau Claire home
State police are investigating the theft of several guns from a residence in Eau Claire.
According to documents, the theft was initially reported at 11:53 p.m. Jan. 19 at a home on Chestnut Street.
The homeowner said he observed footprints leading to his front door, and later found four guns were missing.
The firearms included a Stevens bolt action shotgun, a 20 gauge Mossberg shotgun, a 410 Savage shotgun and a Springfield bolt-action rifle, documents showed.
The residence was unlocked at the time of the theft, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
