Rock hoop season ends with loss to Cal
CALIFORNIA, Pa. — The Slippery Rock University men’s basketball season came to an end Wednesday night with a 91-57 PSAC quarterfinal loss at California (Pa.).
SRU ended the 2023-24 campaign with a 16-14 record, winning 15 of its final 22 games. The Rock has recorded six consecutive winning seasons.
Maceo Austin scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead SRU on Wednesday. He averaged 16.9 points per game this season. Ike Herster netted 10 points, Lashon Lindey eight points, six rebounds and three assists.
KJ McClurg and Bryson Lucas combined to score 44 points for the eighth-ranked Vulcans, who advance to the semifinals against an opponent from the PSAC East.
