Rock wins PSAC tourney opener
SLIPPERY ROCK — Jomo Goings sank a jumper with 3.7 seconds remaining Monday night, giving the Slippery Rock University men’s basketball team a 71-69 victory over Seton Hill in the first round of the PSAC Tournament.
The Rock improved to 16-13 overall — 13-1 at home — and travels to California (Pa.) for a quarterfinal game at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The win marked SRU’s first postseason victory since the 2017-18 season.
Goings led The Rock with 19 points. Maceo Austin had 16 points, nine rebounds and six assists while Ike Herster tallied 13 points.
Ryan Meis led Seton Hill (16-13) with 14 points.
