SRU men's basketball hosting Seton Hill in tourney

ERIE — Slippery Rock University is the No. 3 seed in the PSAC Men’s Basketball Tournament despite Saturday’s 69-51 regular season-closing loss at Mercyhurst.

The Rock (15-13, 13-9) clinched third in the PSAC West by virtue of winning a tiebreaker over Indiana (Pa.), which lost at home to Clarion on Saturday. SRU hosts No. 6 seed Seton Hill at 6 p.m. Monday at Morrow Field House to open tournament play.

SRU is 12-1 at Morrow Field House this season.

Maceo Austin scored 12 points and collected nine rebounds for The Rock on Saturday. Lashon Lindsey netted 10 points, Jomo Goings nine points and five rebounds.

Aidan Reichert paced the Lakers (15-15, 11-11) with 24 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Mercyhurst plays at IUP in the PSAC Tournament.

Mercyhurst 71, SRU 52 (women) — Kristina Donza scored a career-high 20 points for The Rock (2-23, 2-20), which ended its season Saturday. Endya Robinson collected 10 points and seven rebounds, Regan Atkins 10 points and six boards.

Bailey Kuhns scored 14 points and Allyson Ross 12 for Mercyhurst (18-10, 14-8).
