Two Mars Area High School seniors were nominated for 2023-24 Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School Student of the Year following first-round interviews.

Alivia Miller, a student in the collision repair program, and Michaela Wilbert, a cosmetology student were nominated for leadership and outstanding behavior, among other qualities, including attendance and an effort to earn certifications.

Nominees participate in multiple rounds of interviews, present an educational portfolio and prepare a speech.

Second-round interviews were Feb. 28. The vo-tech will announce the 2023-24 Student of the Year at its annual Awards Program on May 23.
