Johnson homers in Pirates defeat

DUNEDIN, Fla. — Termarr Johnson hit the first two Pittsburgh Pirate home runs of the Grapefruit League season on Monday, homering in the seventh and ninth innings of the team’s 8-4 loss to Toronto.

Johnson hit 18 home runs as a 19-year-old in the minor leagues last season. Roansy Contreras allowed two runs in two innings of work on the mound for the Pirates.

The Pirates play the Atlanta Braves at 1:05 p.m. Tuesday in Bradenton.
