SRU men earn big win over Indiana (Pa.)

The Slippery Rock University men’s basketball team brushed aside a 10-point deficit early in a home tilt with arch rival Indiana (Pa.), earning an 81-62 win Saturday night.

The Rock (14-12, 12-8) has won three in a row, with the 19-point triumph being the program’s largest over the Crimson Hawks since 1991. Jomo Goings and Ike Herster both poured in 20 points in the win.

Indiana (Pa.) 57, SRU (women) 42 — The Rock (2-21, 2-18) stayed within striking distance of the Crimson Hawks for three frames, but fell behind even further in the fourth in this home PSAC Western Division defeat.

Deryn Moye put up 13 points for Slippery Rock, while Regan Atkins had her second double-double in a row with 10 points and as many rebounds. Atkins also became the all-time leader in minutes played by a freshman in program history.
