North Catholic to stage ‘Chicago’
North Catholic High School in Cranberry Township will present “Chicago: Teen Edition” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 1 and 2, and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 3 in the school auditorium at 1617 Route 228, Cranberry Township.
Advance tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students, or $15 at the door.
Director is Carissa Zozos. Choreographers are Janet Bartlett and Kristen Bixby.
Therese Engelhardt is producer and vocal director. Mallory Slorijane is set designer and Keith Zielen is lighting director.
Mike Rudick is the orchestra conductor and Edward Rosenbusch is stage crew director.
The show satirizes Chicago in the Roaring Twenties, exploring themes as relevant in 2024 as they were in 1924. The media’s creation of “celebrity criminals” and the corruption of the justice system unfold in the stories of Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, each arrested for murder.
