The Penn State Extension in Mercer County is inviting local horse owners to an equine parasite workshop to learn about the best practices for horse deworming. The course is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 16 at the Mercer County Extension Office in Mercer.

This program will educate horse owners on how to manage a horse’s deworming cycle, as well as parasites’ growing resistance to deworming drugs. The deadline for registration is March 11, and the cost to register for the event is $25 per person.
